Paula Deans Fichtenkort, or “Miss Paula”, as she is addressed by all of her young students, moved to Hilton Head in 1996 and opened the Academy of Dance in Savannah in the fall of 2006.

Paula Deans Fichtenkort began her training in England in the Royal Academy of Dance tradition. After coming to the United States she lived in the Midwest as well as the New York/Connecticut area. She is the founder and former director of the Westport Academy of Dance. This Connecticut institution has been in existence for over 30 years.
